Videos
The following are just some of the great art instruction videos available from Madison Art Shop. I love videos because they actually give you a chance to watch the artist rather than just look at one still picture in a book with a paragraph of writing. You get to see their unique hand movements and hear their spoken words which many times vary from what they write on paper. Videos are also good for following along, just don't be afraid to hit the "pause" button to catch up. Also, you may want to get a small tv/dvd combo for your art studio to watch these while you paint. The videos below are from the "art instruction videos" section along the left sidebar. Most are available in either vhs or dvd, so choose which format you like before you buy.

Painting the Portrait by David A. Leffel. "David Leffel is the artists' artist of portraits and still life."
Painting the Still life by David A. Leffel. "Leffel shares all his secrets with the viewer as he lays in each stroke."
The Art of Still Life Painting by Gregg Kreutz. "Gregg talks about each step, mentions every combination of color, explains what he is doing and why."
