Intro to Color Theory.

Let's go over some basic terms and definitions so you will be able to better follow the advanced articles when they come. Let's start with the primary colors.

Primary colors

The primary colors are red, yellow, and blue.

When those colors are mixed they produce a secondary colors. The secondary colors are orange, green, and violet (purple). So, yellow+red= orange, yellow+blue=green, and red+blue= violet. Those colors are added to the chart below. Notice where these colors fall on the color wheel.

As you can see, each secondary color is straight across from a primary color. I will draw a line between each set of colors. When a color is straight across the color wheel from another color (blue+orange for example), they are called complementary colors. I will expand more on complementary colors in a future lesson.
